JL Audio MX Amplifier Models
The MX amplifier series includes the four-channel MX280/4, rated at 50 watts per channel into 4 ohms, and its big brother, the MX500/4, which is rated at 70 watts per channel. The system includes a large three-channel amp called the MX600/3, which produces 75 watts to a pair of full-range stereo channels and 250 watts for a dedicated subwoofer. Finally, a pair of monoblock amps are available to power subwoofers, with 300 watts from the MX300/1 or 500 watts from the MX500/1. The optional M-RBC-1 remote bass control works with the two subwoofer amps so that we can make it easy to adjust the bass level from the driver’s seat.
All of the amplifiers feature RCA inputs for use with aftermarket head units and can connect to many factory-installed amplifiers and source units, thanks to the inclusion of an input voltage selector switch. Stereo sensitivity controls and electronic crossovers are included on all the full-range channels. Subwoofer channels add infrasonic filter and bass boost controls to help dial-in your system for optimal operation. JL even includes a polarity control switch that makes setting up a subwoofer quick and easy.
Weather-Resistant Design
All five of the JL Audio MX amplifiers feature a cast aluminum heat sink with a removable metal panel that covers the controls on the bottom to keep out water, dust and dirt. The wiring on the end of the amp is encased in a rubber boot to ensure that each unit meets its IPX6 water intrusion specification. These weather-resistant features make these the perfect solution for motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides and golf carts.
