Unlike most remote level controls for amplifiers and processors, the DRC-200 is capable of adjusting two separate levels and features an integrated button that allows you to switch operational modes, depending on the master device.
Features of the JL Audio DRC-200
The DRC-200 is a compact remote control designed for installation neatly into any vehicle. During our consultation process, we will discuss how the remote will control the system and where it is best mounted.
Because there is no housing, mounting the remote and LED requires only drilling two mounting holes. This simple installation design can save our clients hundreds of dollars when compared to remotes with displays or plastic housings. We can mount the remote in a blank switch panel on the dash or in the center console – whatever works best for you. The included status LED is quite bright, so we’ll work with you to ensure we mount it in a location that is visible during the day, but not distracting at night.
The DRC-200 and JL Audio TwK Processors
The JL Audio TwK-D8 and TwK-88 processors include a DRC-200 remote. The TuN software allows us to assign the inner and outer level controls to any of the eight output channels separately. That means the remote can adjust the overall system volume, subwoofer level or rear speaker level.
The button integrated into the inner level control allows you to switch between any of the six system presets. The LED will change color, depending on the preset you have chosen. We can discuss the purpose of different presets during the consultation process.
Jl Audio FiX-86 Processor Functionality
The DRC-200 is also compatible with the JL Audio FiX-86 processor. The remote can serve as a volume control and the second channel can adjust subwoofer or rear speaker levels. The button on the DRC-200 puts the TwK-86 into hands-free mode. When enabled, hands-free mode bypasses the signal-delay corrections and applies a 100 Hz high-pass filter to the audio signal on all channels. In vehicles with factory signal delay, hands-free mode improves the noise canceling capabilities of the system for clearer audio during phone calls.
