JL Audio HD900/5 Power Ratings
The HD900/5 features a unique power supply technology called RIPS, which stands for Regulated Intelligent Power Supply. RIPS monitors the current delivered to each speaker and adjusts the power supply voltage to help maintain maximum power into loads between 1.5 and 4 ohms. The HD900/5 will deliver 500 watts from its subwoofer channel into any load between 1.5 and 4 ohms. For the main channels, the amp delivers 100 watts into a 4-ohm load or 75 watts into loads between 1.5 and 3 ohms. RIPS makes this amp compatible with a variety of speaker and subwoofer combinations.
Signal Processing Features
The HD900/5 will accept preamp signals or speaker-level inputs to facilitate integration with factory or aftermarket source units. Each pair of channels includes built-in adjustable crossovers with -12 and -24 dB filter slopes that are adjustable between 50 and 500Hz. We can defeat the crossovers for system designs that include a DSP like the JL Audio TwK Series. JL includes a security cover to hide the amplifier’s controls. Once we have your amp configured, your friends can’t get in there and mess with the settings.
The subwoofer channel of the JL Audio HD900/5 is compatible with the optional HD-RLC remote level control. This control lets you fine-tune your system’s subwoofer output level quickly and easily.
