The impressive new Sony XAV-AX8000 multimedia receiver is now available at Adrenaline Autosound in Clayton. This unique multimedia source unit features a floating 8.95-inch display that mimics the design of a new Lincoln or Mercedes-Benz radio. With the screen out in front of the radio chassis, Sony was able to pack an impressive number of features in a single-DIN housing that fits a wide variety of applications.
Sony XAV-AX8000 Features
Aside from the massive display, the hardware behind the AX8000 is based on the XAV-AX5000. Entertainment source options include an AM/FM receiver with RBDS information display and Best Station Memory tuning features. We can upgrade the radio to play SiriusXM with the addition of an SXV300v1 satellite radio tuner module during the installation.
You can stream audio from a Bluetooth device or play music from an iPhone 5S using the USB connection. Sony has equipped the AX8000 with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. These hands-free interfaces allow the driver to make phone calls, send text messages or play any of the music stored on the smartphone by simply talking to the radio in plain English. Streaming services like Pandora, iHeartRadio, Tidal, Google Play Music, Amazon Music and Radio Disney all have native apps to keep you entertained as you drive.
Speaking of driving, thanks to support for Apple Maps (when connected to an iPhone), Google Maps and Waze, accurate and detailed turn-by-turn navigation instructions are also available. All three options take into account real-time traffic flow information around major urban areas to ensure you reach your destination quickly and efficiently. You can search for your destination by asking for an address or allow the system to search the address if you provide a business name.

Sony has included a four-channel amplifier in the radio to drive the front and rear speakers in your car. We can upgrade your system with a high-power amplifier for a subwoofer and use the crossovers in the radio to make the system sound great.
