Will Aftermarket Products Void My Factory Warranty?

Warranty

One of the most common questions we get at Adrenaline Autosound is, “Will installing this part void my factory warranty?” The simple answer in no. Let’s remove the myths surrounding new-vehicle warranties and aftermarket products and explore the facts.

Car dealers will often resort to scare tactics to get consumers to buy their products instead of getting those products from someone like us. It is simple economics; they make money when they sell and install their products on your vehicle. The sad reality is that statements like “your warranty will be voided if you install any aftermarket electronics in your vehicle” are not only false but telling you that is breaking the law.

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act

WarrantyIn 1975, Congress passed the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act to address this very issue. Car dealers had been telling their customers that letting anyone else worked on their vehicles besides the dealer meant losing their warranties, so Congress acted. Unfortunately, people have short memories, and sometimes need to be reminded of the facts. Here is a link to the Federal Trade Commission’s site on the subject:

Poor Installations or Products

Now, there is one very important thing you do need to know. If you have someone install poor-quality products or perform a poor-quality installation, then your warranty may, in fact, be suspect.

The good news is that Adrenaline Autosound prides itself on selling only the most reliable products we can find. We are not the type of store that is going to look for a product with the lowest price, but rather, we carry ones with the best performance and reliability. You can rest assured that our commitment to you goes way beyond a low-priced product.

Our Installations

WarrantyWhen it comes time to talk about an installation, the technicians at our facility are some of the finest in the nation. Both of our installers are Master Certified Technicians from the Mobile Electronics Certification Program. There are approximately 300 master techs in the whole country, so having both of our guys achieve this level of certification should put you at ease.

We only know how to do one type of installation here at Adrenaline: the correct one. Our guys will never short-change an installation to save a few dollars or to hurry a vehicle out the door. Our reputation hinges on the fact that we perform work that meets – and often exceeds – the standards of vehicle manufacturers. We do this to ensure the utmost in reliability.

Stop By and Visit Us Today

When you are ready to get upgrades for your vehicle, we invite you to stop by Adrenaline Autosound in Clayton. One of our team will work one on one with you, getting to know you and your vehicle better. We take a solutions approach to all of our work, rather than selling you a product and trying to figure out how to get it installed. Doing this ensures you get a more reliable product, and one that better suits your needs. You can also Contact Us Here for more information about any of our products and services.
